Short version: you can browse and plan a trip without giving us any personal information.

Browsing
We don't use advertising trackers, analytics cookies or third-party scripts. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs for security and reliability.
Trip planner
Saved places and itineraries are stored in your own browser (local storage). They are not sent to us unless you choose "Share trip", which stores a read-only copy — the trip name, day labels and the places on it — under a random link. Shared links expire after 180 days.
Location
"Places near me" asks your browser for your location only when you click it. Coordinates are rounded and used only for that search; we don't store them.
Maps and directions
Map tiles load from OpenFreeMap, which receives your IP address like any web request. Directions links open Google Maps or Apple Maps only when you click them, under their own privacy policies.
Forms
If you report a problem or request advertising information, we store what you submit and a one-way hash of your IP address for abuse prevention. We use your email only to reply. Contact hello@sunshinevisitorguide.com to have it deleted.
Children
The site is a general-audience travel guide and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
