About this guide
Sunshine Visitor Guide is independent and is not affiliated with any theme park or attraction. This page offers general planning advice only. It does not describe rides, ticket prices or crowd forecasts, which change often and are best taken from each park.
Each park publishes its own hours, policies and accessibility information. Check them in the days before your visit.
Tickets and terms
Buy tickets from the park's official website or from a seller the park names, and read the terms for valid dates, entry requirements and changes. Be cautious with unofficial resellers.
Park websites list their operating hours, maps and policies, which can change by date. Confirm the date you plan to visit before you buy.
Heat, sun and hydration
Ready.gov notes that humidity increases the feeling of heat, and the National Weather Service heat index measures how hot it feels once humidity is included. Full sun can make it feel hotter still. Children and older adults are at greater risk from extreme heat.
Plan breaks in air-conditioned or shaded places, carry water, and use sun protection. Park guest services pages list amenities such as water bottle refill stations and first aid. Never leave a child, person with a disability or pet in a parked car.
Storms and lightning
Afternoon rain is common in summer, and thunderstorms can occur year-round. When thunder roars, go indoors. Parks publish weather policies and updates; one operator lists a weather updates page, and another has a page called Weather-or-Not Assurance. Check each park's rules for how storms affect attractions and what to do.
Enable Wireless Emergency Alerts on your phone and know where the nearest indoor shelter is. In an emergency, call 911.
Getting there and getting around
Parks have their own parking, resort transport and rules, so check the park's site for directions and costs. If you do not drive, LYNX publishes a destinations page listing bus Links that serve many major attractions.
For accessibility needs, families, or budget tips, see our accessible travel, traveling with children and budget guides, and the park's own accessibility pages.
